Australia vs The World

Categories : Sport |

I love the prospect of this cricket super series coming up in October 2005 (see this story)- it’ll be a one-off, six-day Test in Sydney and three one-day games in Melbourne between Australia and a “rest-of-the-world” team. Watching a team filled with the likes of Tendulkar, Lara, Muralitharan (if he shows up), Akhtar, and others playing against our great Aussie team will be very exciting. I only wish it might have happened during the days of Steve Waugh when the team was a little stronger than it is now.

They better put this on free to air TV. If not I’d almost be tempted to get Foxtel pay TV entirely so I can watch it. I’ve never seriously thought of getting Foxtel before as I don’t have the time or money for it. Jenni and I have a theory about Foxtel – our rule is that before a person gets Foxtel they should be sponsoring at least one child in a third world country. Foxtel is a luxury costing $50 or more a month – if you are willing to pay that much you should be willing to pay $30 or $40 a month to help underprivileged people. We already have sponsored one child but I think my conscience (otherwise known as Jenni) would make me sponsor another child at least before signing up for pay TV.
