After playing around a bit with Podcasting over the weekend, I thought I’d take the RSS train a bit further, and found a great application to browse my favourite blogs on my Palm Pilot. It’s called Hand/RSS and it downloads a feed of all the blogs or newsfeeds I specify so I can read them at my leisure. So any other Palm and blog freaks out there might want to check it out.

Here’s a good piece from The Australian on a country that we don’t think about too often – Turkey and how Australia should work harder at our ties with them. I recently read a good book set in early 20th century Turkey, in the last days of the Ottoman empire – Birds Without Wings by Louis De Bernieres. It shows a world that I’ve never thought about before, and talks about stories we do know, like Gallipoli, from the other side. Well worth reading if you want to try something a bit different.

There’s something nice about giving a gift that you have spent a lot of time working on yourself, rather than just simply buying something from the shop and wrapping it. It’s a good feeling putting that time and care into something as well as just money.
Guess who’s got a birthday coming up?
