    I worked with a guy on the Doulos. He’d been in Romania when the communist government fell and the desperate needs of the people there prompted him to sell everything he owned. After giving away all his money and posessions, all he had left was his clothes and a backpack.

    He thought that giving everything away would help him to be humble. What he discovered was that he became proud that all he owned was a backpack!!!

    It’s not the stuff in our lives, but our attitude to that stuff which really matters.
