Leaky batteries

duracell_batteries_set.jpgWell I’ve learnt a practical lesson this week that perhaps for many other people is just simple common sense - don’t leave batteries in appliances you are not using for a long period of time. This week we’ve been getting out some of our baby toys, swing etc that we haven’t used for 2 or 3 years and in almost all of them the batteries had leaked and corroded the battery terminals. Almost all of them did not work immediately after I put new batteries in, although fortunately for most a little cleaning and wiggling of the batteries solved the problem. So from now on, I will not leave batteries in unused appliances. Lesson learned.
